Creative ways to bring spring into your home.

As we celebrate this Easter season, let's bring new life and color into our winter-weary homes. Outside the grass is getting greener, flowers are beginning to bloom, and the trees are coming to life. Try some of these ideas to bring the same feeling into your own home.

Collect pretty decorative bottles or jars with cork tops. Add colored water (just add a few drops of food coloring). Turn on the lights or set in the sunshine to see them sparkle.

Bring spring and summer color indoors. Hang a window box on an interior wall (it doesn't have to be under a window). Fill with colorful plants and potted flowers that you can change whenever you like.

Buy some silk forsythia and add to your existing floral arrangements for a new spring look.

Use lace doilies to add some romance to your room. Try framing with a velvet mat in your favorite color. Drape over books, then add a lamp or other accessories. You might even try lining an exposed shelf so you can see the pretty lace edges.

Add bright colored pillows to your chair or sofa for that burst of color. Bring out a beautiful quilt that has been hidden away in your closet.

Fill a large glass urn with lemons or limes (cut some in half so you can see inside and also enjoy the fresh scent). Add water and floating candles for an easy centerpiece.

To create a fun and unusual table, bring a birdbath inside. Fill with sand, shells, flowers or other natural items. Cover with round glass top.
